Located near the Shakespeare Gardens on Tennessee Avenue, this single-family, one story structure once was Mary Eggleston's private school in the late 1800's. Commonly known as the Eggleston House or Eggleston Hall. Other occupants throughout the years include Sophie D. Thurmond, Douglas Vaughan and Helen Vaughan, Christopher Paine, Sidney Lake Paine and Margaret DeLaney Betts Paine, Robert Sudderth, Woody Register and Julie Berebitsky.
Eggleston School
