This was on the east side of Alabama Avenue next to Selden.  It was built by Mr. Hayes in 1871.  It was first occupied by Professor Dabney who seems to have moved around a great deal.  Then Mr. C.V. Juny lived in it.  He was a clergyman, A Frenchman with four sons, and he had the Chair of Romance Languages from 1869 to 1872.  He was an alumnus of Louvain and an accomplished linguist.  His sons attended the College and Junior School before he left for the University of Mississippi.

Mrs. C.V. Juny lived on here until her death in 1897 and she is buried in the University cemetery.

Miss Queenie describes the house as "Mrs. Juny's pretty house with its square columns, all painted white, and green shutters."

This house eventually burned.
