Part of South Wing of Otey Hall or Cobb's Hall for Bishop Cobb of Alabama--It had 8 rooms and cost $1,200.

The meeting of the Trustees in August, 1867, was held in this unfinished building. They celebrated Communion in it and then marched in procession from it to lay the Corner Stone of the Chapel.

Later, it was added to and formed Mrs. Elmore's boarding house which was a popular resort for many years under "Miss Fannie" and "Miss Carrie" Elmore. They bought it from the University in 1879.

After Mrs. Caroline Elmore's death in 1903, it was vacant a few years and it was used for various things. Dr. Rennie Kirby-Smith and Dr. Allen Lear had their offices there at one time, and Miss Johnnie Tucker tried running a tea room there one summer. It was transferred to the University in 1906. . .

It was pulled down when the Science Building was built in 1913.

Mrs. Gilbert Govan's book, The Delectable Mountain, tells of her life in this house as a little girl.
